EXPERIENCE HORSE PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK CHILDREN AND SENIOR CITIZENS

YEARLY EVENT:
The Experience Horses Program
for underprivileged, inner city children and senior citizens in nursing homes gives participants the opportunity to experience horses through visits to equestrian live shows mostly held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

ONGOING EVENT:
Every year we invite the children to events such as the Fiesta Of The Spanish Horse or the Equestfest at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Underprivileged and inner city children, ranging from K-12 to high school, are given the opportunity to interact on a one-to-one basis with horses in an effort to help build confidence, trust, and self-esteem.
Children visiting our program will learn how to feed and groom horses, learn about horses and whenever the opportunity arises are given a chance to ride and engage in various horse art projects. This program also features equestrian vaulting. Vaulting is a great way to experience horses by yourself on in a team. Therapeutic vaulting has shown amazing results. Visit: www.aheadwithhorses.org or www.valleyviewvaulters.com.
